Sonic Paintings installations create interactive soundscapes in order to bring to life a story contained in paintings
We aim to add an interactive experience
to a museum visit by translating visual art into sonic experiences
One of the key aims of the project is education through art. Here, sonic information is used as a platform for better understanding of historical background as much as painting itself. For example, we can imagine dialogue between characters on the painting as a source of historical information presented in informal and sometimes even humorous manner. Another important aspects of educational purpose of the project is preserving the heritage of historical language and music .
This positive and unique experience should generate curiosity and interests in contact with visual art as well as promote museums as places of innovative ways of presenting seemingly well known art. Hence the promotional aim of this project is ‘the new look at the old masters’ function of museums.
